8–9 April 2027, Harpa, Reykjavík, Iceland
A Land Shaped by Change. A Gathering Driven by It.
Iceland is a country shaped by constant change. In April 2027, that spirit comes to Harpa, Reykjavík’s landmark glass concert hall, for Social Change 2027 – a two-day international conference bringing together lived experience, professional expertise, research and new approaches to recovery, mental health, addiction and human distress.
Now in its third edition since 2023, Social Change brings different forms of knowledge and experience into conversation around one central question: What helps people recover and build meaningful lives – and what needs to change in our services, systems and communities to make that possible?
Day One brings together diverse speakers, keynotes and conversations exploring what works, what needs to be reconsidered and where we might go next. Day Two goes deeper, with extended workshops, practical learning and hands-on training.
Join an international community of people with lived experience, practitioners, researchers, policymakers and students. Come to exchange knowledge across disciplines and perspectives, discover new approaches, and take home ideas and practical tools that can make a difference in your work and community.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Reykjavík, Social Change 2027 is an opportunity to step outside familiar settings, meet people working differently across countries and disciplines, and be part of a wider conversation about recovery and meaningful change.
Hosted by Geðhjálp (The Icelandic Mental Health Alliance), in collaboration with the Krýsuvík Association.
